How to Add an AI Chatbot to GoDaddy, Hostinger, Duda, Weebly or Jimdo
Where to paste a chatbot script in GoDaddy, Hostinger, Duda, Weebly, Square Online and Jimdo, which plan you need, and what to do when scripts are blocked.

Short answer
As of October 2026, six of the eight builder editors covered here can load an AI chatbot's script tag on every page: Hostinger (Integrations → Custom code), Duda (Settings → Body End HTML, Team plan, $29 a month billed yearly), Weebly (Settings → SEO → Footer Code, even on Free), Square Online, Jimdo Creator and GoDaddy's new Airo builder. GoDaddy's classic editor confines code to one page's HTML section, and the Jimdo Website Builder blocks scripts entirely.
This guide is for owners of local business websites on GoDaddy, Hostinger, Duda, Weebly, Square Online or Jimdo, and for the agencies that build them: a plumber's quote page, a salon's price list, a clinic's opening hours. Each builder hides its custom-code setting somewhere different, several allow it only on paid plans, and two never let a floating chat launcher onto the page.
Every step, plan rule and price below comes from the builder's own help center or pricing page, read on 22 October 2026. We did not open trial accounts, so where a builder's own pages say nothing about a plan, we say so. The install examples use PepoChat, our product; its behaviour was checked in its code and documentation the same day.

Which website builders can run an AI chatbot script?
Six of the eight builder editors we checked on 22 October 2026 can run a chatbot's script tag on every page; GoDaddy's classic editor runs custom code only inside one page's HTML section, and the Jimdo Website Builder runs none at all.
A script tag is one line of HTML that tells the visitor's browser to download and run a small program, here the loader that draws the chat button. A site-wide field puts the launcher on every page; a page block gives you, at best, a chat box on that page.
| Builder | Where the script goes | Every page? | Lowest plan that runs it |
|---|---|---|---|
| GoDaddy Website Builder, classic (Websites + Marketing) | An HTML section on a page: paste into Custom Code | No: one page, inside a frame | Not stated by GoDaddy |
| GoDaddy Airo AI Builder | Code in the top menu, or ask the Airo chat | Yes, if added to the code every page shares | Starter, $9.99 a month billed yearly (the first plan that publishes) |
| Hostinger (AI Builder, Manual mode) | More (⋯) → Integrations → Custom code | Yes; script tags move to the end of the body | Premium, from $2.49 a month on a 48-month prepaid term; no free plan |
| Duda | More → Settings → Header HTML → Body End HTML | Yes | Team, $29 a month billed yearly or $39 monthly |
| Weebly | Settings → SEO → Footer Code | Yes | Free |
| Square Online | Settings → Tracking Tools → Add new code → End of body | Yes | Free |
| Jimdo Creator | Menu → Settings → Edit Head | Yes | Pro, $13 a month (custom coding is listed on Free, external widgets from Pro) |
| Jimdo Website Builder | Nowhere: no HTML, scripts, iframes or widget code | No | Not available on any plan |
Menu paths and plan rules from each builder's help center and pricing page, checked 22 October 2026. Prices in US dollars as shown to us; builders vary prices by country.
Whatever the builder, test on the published site, since most builders push code live only when you publish, and paste the tag once, in the site-wide field only.
What do you need before adding the chatbot?
Before adding an AI chatbot to any of these builders, you need the chatbot's script tag, a site published on a plan that runs custom code, and a knowledge base for the chatbot to answer from.
An AI support agent is a chat widget that answers visitors from a private knowledge base built from your own pages and documents, and hands the conversation to your team when it cannot help, a step called human handoff. With PepoChat, the work before the builder step takes four steps:
- Create a free workspace. No card is needed, and the Free plan includes 200 AI replies a month and 5 knowledge sources.
- In Knowledge Base → Add New, choose the website option and crawl your home page or submit your sitemap. A crawl reads up to 200 pages, 3 levels deep, and counts as one knowledge source, which is one item the agent searches before every reply, such as a website import or a document.
- Ask three real customer questions in Test the agent and fill any gap with a Q&A pair.
- In Widget Setup, click HTML and copy the snippet with your Organization ID filled in.
The snippet is one line:
<script src="https://widget.pepochat.com/widget.js" data-organization-id="YOUR_ORGANIZATION_ID"></script>
The loader is 3,387 bytes gzipped, measured on 22 October 2026. It fetches the chat frame in the browser's idle time after your page loads and starts a visitor session only when someone opens the chat. Add data-position="bottom-left" to move the launcher to the left corner.
How do you add an AI chatbot to GoDaddy Website Builder?
GoDaddy Website Builder takes an AI chatbot in two different ways in October 2026: the classic editor, called Websites + Marketing in GoDaddy's help center, accepts code only inside a page's HTML section, while the newer Airo AI Builder lets you edit the site's code directly.
To tell them apart: if your GoDaddy products page lists the site under Websites + Marketing, you are on the classic editor. Airo AI Builder is what GoDaddy's Website Builder page sells today; it builds a site from prompts, and GoDaddy's rebuild article says a published Airo site gets an airoapp.ai address until you connect your domain.
Classic GoDaddy Website Builder: the HTML section
GoDaddy's article on how to add HTML or custom code to your site gives these steps:
- Go to your GoDaddy product page.
- Expand Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
- Go to the page and spot where the code belongs, and add a section.
- Search for the HTML section and select Add.
- Paste the script tag into the Custom Code field.
- Set Forced Height in pixels; blank means automatic height, and 0 deletes the section.
- Changes save automatically. Check them with Preview, then publish.
Two limits decide what a chatbot can do here. GoDaddy's answer to whether you can customize a Websites + Marketing site says you "won't be able to apply site-wide or more complex code", and its troubleshooting article for custom code says the embed sits inside an iframe, a page within the page.
A floating chat button is pinned to the corner of the window it runs in, and inside GoDaddy's frame that window is the section. PepoChat's launcher therefore sits in the section's bottom corner, on that page only, and the chat window opens inside the same box. For a chat box on your Contact page, set Forced Height to at least 710 pixels, because PepoChat's chat window, 600 pixels tall at most, is always at least 110 pixels shorter than the box it runs in. We could not test this on a live GoDaddy site, so check the published page before you rely on it.
GoDaddy's article names no plan for the HTML section. Some third-party install guides describe site-wide code on higher GoDaddy plans, but none of GoDaddy's own pages that we read on 22 October 2026 describes such a setting.
GoDaddy also has its own chat. Websites + Marketing sites include a GoDaddy Conversations chat widget, and its chatbots, switched on under Conversations → Settings → Chatbots, include a Response Assistant Bot that scans your website for answers and an Order Bot for store order status. Visitors who need more help reach your Conversations inbox.
GoDaddy Airo AI Builder: edit the code
The Airo AI Builder editor has a Code item in its top menu for viewing and editing the site's code, and GoDaddy notes that editing code yourself, rather than through the builder chat, saves AI credits.
- Open your project in Airo AI Builder.
- Click Code in the top menu.
- Paste the script tag where every page loads it, such as just before the closing
</body>tag of the main HTML file, or ask the Airo chat to add it to every page. - Open Preview in a new tab and check the launcher on two different pages.
- Publish, then connect your domain.
GoDaddy's help pages do not name the file that wraps every page, so after the chat makes the change, confirm in Code that the tag appears exactly once. On GoDaddy's plan table, the Free plan gives 50 AI credits a month for preview sites, and publishing starts with Starter at $9.99 a month billed yearly for one site; Professional, at $24.99, publishes up to 10.
How do you add custom code in Hostinger Website Builder?
Hostinger Website Builder, now the Manual mode of Hostinger AI Builder, takes a chatbot script under More → Integrations → Custom code, and it moves script tags to the end of the page body automatically, which is where a chat loader belongs.
Hostinger's article on how to integrate custom code gives these steps:
- In the builder, click More (the ⋯ button) to open the website settings, then choose Integrations.
- Paste the script tag into the Custom code field, below any existing snippet and never inside one.
- Save your changes.
- Update the website; Hostinger says this step pushes the script to the live site.
- Open your site, right-click, choose Inspect and search for
widget.pepochat.comto confirm the tag is there.
Hostinger sends <meta>, <link> and <style> tags to the head and <script>, <noscript> and <iframe> tags to the end of the body, so the data-render-head attribute it offers is not needed here. Custom code runs in preview and on the live site, never inside the editor.
Skip the Embed code element, which places code in one spot on one page. If the site misbehaves after a change, Hostinger's advice is to remove every snippet, update the site, and add the snippets back one at a time.
Hostinger's builder has no free plan, and sites built during a trial cannot be published; the pricing page offers a 14-day trial, while the help center says 7 days. Premium costs $2.49 a month on a 48-month term paid upfront ($119.52) and renews at $10.99 a month.
Where does the chatbot script go in Duda?
In Duda, a chatbot script goes in the site-wide Body End HTML field under More → Settings, which Duda's help center says is available on Team plans and higher, from $29 a month billed yearly.
Duda's custom code article gives these steps:
- In the editor's side panel, click More, then Settings.
- Click Header HTML; one passage of the same article calls it Head HTML.
- Paste the script tag into the Body End HTML field, which Duda places just before the closing body tag of every page.
- Click Save, then republish the site.
Use Body End HTML rather than Head HTML: Duda's head field normally keeps only link, script and meta tags, and Duda says consent management apps cannot hold back code placed in the header. Duda also says its page-speed optimisation can interfere with custom scripts; its test is to duplicate the page, change the copy's URL to testing_scripts and publish it, and if the code works there, ask support to turn the optimisation off. Duda Support does not troubleshoot custom code itself.
Duda's Basic plan, $19 a month billed yearly or $25 monthly, has no custom code. Team costs $29 or $39 with one site included, Agency $52 or $69 with four, and extra sites cost $17 a month.

Duda describes itself as built for businesses that offer websites to other businesses, so each client site should get its own workspace and knowledge base, which keeps one client's prices out of another client's answers. In PepoChat, each account can own one Free workspace, so additional client workspaces need a paid plan; the agency guide covers client setup, handover and who pays.
Does Weebly allow chat widgets?
Weebly allows chat widgets on every plan, Free included: its pricing page lists third-party embed code for all four plans, and the site-wide Footer Code field sits under Settings → SEO in the site editor.
Square, which runs Weebly's help center, gives these steps:
- Open the site editor and click Settings at the top.
- Click SEO.
- Paste the script tag into the Footer Code field and click Save.
- Publish the site.
Square's Weebly site settings article describes these fields for search-engine verification and analytics tags and names no plan for them. Paid plans start with Personal at $13 a month billed yearly ($16 month to month), the first plan that connects a custom domain, so a free site keeps its Weebly address, which then belongs on your allowed-domains list.
Square Online: Tracking Tools
Square Online, Square's other site builder, takes the same code under Tracking Tools, which Square's help article lists for the Free, Plus and Premium plans alike.
- In the Square Dashboard, go to Channels → Square Online.
- Select Settings, then Tracking Tools.
- Select Add new code, give it a name and paste the script tag.
- Choose End of body and select Save.
- Publish the site from the site editor.
Square calls this tracking code because it is not visible on the page; a visible Embed code section needs Plus or Premium. Square says it can tell you where code goes but cannot help with the code itself.
Can you add a chatbot to a Jimdo site?
You can add a chatbot to a Jimdo site only if it was built with Jimdo Creator; Jimdo's help center says the Jimdo Website Builder cannot take custom code: no HTML, CSS or JavaScript, no iframes and no external widgets.
Jimdo's tip for telling its two editors apart is the free address: a jimdosite.com subdomain means the Website Builder, and jimdofree.com means Creator. On Creator, Jimdo's help articles give these steps:
- Log in, choose your website and click Edit.
- In the menu, open Settings → Edit Head.
- Paste the script tag and save.
Edit Head puts the code in the page head, which works because PepoChat's loader waits for the page content before drawing the launcher. To show the chat on one page only, paste the tag into a Widget/HTML Element on that page instead, under Add Element → More elements and Add-ons.
Jimdo's Creator plan table lists custom coding on every plan, Free included, but external widgets and apps only from Pro, at $13 a month paid in advance for 12 or 24 months; Business costs $26 and Platinum $52. Treat Pro as the realistic minimum, since a Free Creator site also keeps its jimdofree.com address and Jimdo's ads.
On the Website Builder, the Smart Apps block embeds only a fixed list of services, such as Calendly and YouTube, and Contacts → WhatsApp Widget adds a WhatsApp button. Neither runs an AI agent.
What can you do when a builder blocks chatbot scripts?
When a builder blocks chatbot scripts, the dependable workaround is a link or button that opens the chatbot on its own hosted page, because every builder, including the Jimdo Website Builder and GoDaddy's classic editor, can link to a web address.
In PepoChat, the hosted chat page lives at an address like https://widget.pepochat.com/full?organizationId=YOUR_ORGANIZATION_ID, shown with Open and Copy buttons on the Widget Setup page. It fills the browser with the same chat, help articles and bookings as the widget, without a launcher. If you use an allowed-domains list, switch on Allow the hosted chat page on the same card, or the page shows the not-allowed message.
Put the link where visitors look for help: a "Chat with us" button in the header, the Contact page, or a QR code at the counter. For a plumber or an electrician, it also fits on quotes and invoices, and the home services guide covers what that agent should answer after hours.
If most visitors want a person, the builder's own messaging may be enough: Jimdo's WhatsApp Widget, Hostinger's WhatsApp integration or GoDaddy's Conversations chat, whose bots also answer simple questions. If you want a launcher on every page and your editor will not allow one, you need an editor that runs code, such as Jimdo Creator or GoDaddy's Airo AI Builder.
How do you check the chatbot after publishing?
Check a new chatbot on the published site, in a private window and on a real phone, because the editor is not what visitors get: Hostinger never runs custom code inside its editor, and most of these builders push code live only when you publish.
| Check | Why it matters | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| The launcher is on every page | Code in a page block, such as GoDaddy's HTML section or a Jimdo Widget/HTML Element, shows on that page only | Open the home page, a deep page and the Contact page |
| Your addresses are on the allowed-domains list | Once a list is set, PepoChat refuses to start a chat on a page whose domain is missing | Add your domain and the builder's address, such as yoursite.jimdofree.com, never a bare jimdofree.com |
| It works on a phone | The 400 by 600 pixel window shrinks to fit small screens | Open and close the chat on a real phone |
| Nothing loads over plain HTTP | Duda and Hostinger both warn that http links break custom code | Keep the https address in the snippet |
| The launcher covers no other button | WhatsApp buttons and builder chats sit in the same corners | Add data-position="bottom-left" or remove the other button |
| One chat widget per page | Two chats split visitors and replies | Switch off GoDaddy's built-in chat if PepoChat replaces it |
| The cookie banner still works | Some consent tools cannot hold back code in the head | Prefer body-end fields; PepoChat sets no cookies on your domain |
| The agent answers and hands off | Content gaps show up as "I don't know" | Ask three real questions, then ask for a person and check the team inbox |
Checks from each builder's help center and PepoChat's documentation, 22 October 2026.
An allowed-domains list is the set of sites your widget may start conversations on, and subdomains are included automatically. That is why you add yoursite.jimdofree.com rather than jimdofree.com, which would let every free Jimdo Creator site use your agent and your AI replies. The allowed domains docs explain the matching rules: up to 20 entries, ports ignored, and changes apply to new conversations immediately. Remove a builder's temporary address once your own domain is live.

Why isn't the chatbot showing on my site?
A missing chatbot on these builders nearly always comes from where the code was pasted, the plan, or a publish step that never happened. Work down the table from the top.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| GoDaddy: the launcher sits inside a box on one page | Classic HTML sections run in an iframe | Use a hosted chat page link, or move to Airo AI Builder |
| GoDaddy: the chat window is cut off | Forced Height is too small | Set at least 710 pixels |
| Hostinger: nothing shows in the editor | Custom code never runs in the editor | Use preview, or update the site and open it |
| Hostinger: the site broke after pasting | A snippet was pasted inside another | Remove all snippets, update, add them back one by one |
| Duda: you cannot add custom code | The site is on the Basic plan | Upgrade to Team or higher |
| Duda: the script never runs on the live site | Not republished, or page-speed optimisation | Republish, test a copied page, ask Duda support |
| Weebly or Square Online: not live | The site was not published after saving | Publish |
| Jimdo: no place to paste code | The site runs on the Jimdo Website Builder | Link to a hosted chat page |
| "This website is not allowed to use this chat widget" | The page's domain is missing from the list | Add the exact address and save |
| Console says "already initialized" | The tag was pasted twice, for example in a footer field and a page block | Keep the site-wide copy only |
Last verified 22 October 2026.
If the launcher appears but the answers are thin, the fix is content, not code: add the missing page or a Q&A pair, then ask again in Test the agent.
What to do next
- Keep the website builders reference open when you install on other builders; the snippet stays the same, only the settings page moves.
- Read how one script tag adds a chat widget to any website for the JavaScript API and opening the chat from your own button.
- Create a free PepoChat workspace, import your site and paste the snippet into your builder's field. No card is needed.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you add a chatbot to GoDaddy Website Builder?
- Yes, but how depends on the editor. As of October 2026, GoDaddy's classic Websites + Marketing editor runs custom code only inside a page's HTML section, which sits in an iframe, so a chat launcher stays inside that box on one page. GoDaddy's newer Airo AI Builder lets you edit the site's code, so a script tag can load on every page.
- Which GoDaddy plan allows custom code?
- GoDaddy's help article on HTML sections names no plan, and its own FAQ says a Websites + Marketing site cannot apply site-wide code, although some third-party guides mention a plan that can. On Airo AI Builder, where you can edit the code, GoDaddy's plan table lists publishing from Starter, $9.99 a month billed yearly, as checked on 22 October 2026.
- How do I add custom code in Hostinger Website Builder?
- Open the builder, click More (the three-dot button) to open the website settings, choose Integrations and paste the code into the Custom code field. Save, then update the website so the code goes live. Hostinger moves script tags to the end of the page body automatically, and custom code shows in preview and on the live site, never inside the editor.
- Does Weebly allow chat widgets?
- Yes. As of October 2026, Weebly's pricing page lists third-party embed code on every plan, including Free. Paste a chat widget's script tag into the Footer Code field under Settings and SEO in the site editor, save and publish, and it loads on every page. A free Weebly site keeps its Weebly address, so add that address to the widget's allowed domains.
- Can I add a chatbot to a Jimdo site?
- Only on Jimdo Creator. Jimdo's help center says the Jimdo Website Builder accepts no custom HTML, scripts, iframes or external widgets. On Creator, paste the script tag under Settings, Edit Head. Creator's plan table lists external widgets from the Pro plan at $13 a month. On the Website Builder, link a button to the chatbot's hosted chat page instead.
- What if my website builder blocks JavaScript?
- Link to the chatbot instead of embedding it. Some AI chatbots, PepoChat included, offer a hosted chat page with its own web address, which any builder can open from a button, a menu item or a QR code. You lose the floating launcher but keep the same answers. The other options are the builder's own chat or moving to an editor that runs code.
