Gorgias Pricing Explained: Tickets, AI Agent and the Double Meter

Gorgias charges per ticket and again per AI resolution. October 2026 plans, what counts as a ticket, AI Agent rates and six worked months for Shopify stores.

Short answer

Gorgias bills two meters, as of October 2026. Helpdesk plans run from $10 a month for 50 tickets to $900 for 5,000, and a ticket is any conversation a person, a Rule or AI Agent replies to. AI Agent adds $1.00 per automated interaction on monthly billing, $0.90 on annual and $1.50 past the plan's bundle, and each conversation it resolves also counts as a ticket. A 1,500-ticket month, half automated, costs about $1,110 to $1,390.

The Gorgias pricing page leads with four plan cards, but the invoice has more parts: a ticket allowance and overage rate per plan, an AI Agent bundle with its own overage, and a rule that makes each conversation the AI closes count on both. Third-party pricing pages disagree on several of these numbers, so every figure below comes from Gorgias's own pricing page and help center.

This guide is for Shopify store owners and support leads deciding whether to start, renew or resize a Gorgias plan. It covers the plans, the ticket and AI rules, six worked months, add-ons and ways to lower the bill. To compare helpdesks instead, our Gorgias vs Zendesk comparison prices both at three volumes.

Gorgias's prices and definitions were read on gorgias.com and docs.gorgias.com on 22 October 2026. PepoChat, which appears in the last section, is our product; its behaviour below was checked in its code and documentation the same day.

How much does Gorgias cost per month?

Gorgias costs $10 to $900 a month on monthly billing for its four listed helpdesk plans, as of 22 October 2026, and each plan is defined by the tickets it includes: 50, 300, 2,000 or 5,000 a month. Annual billing lowers Basic, Pro and Advanced to $50, $300 and $750 a month, paid upfront for 12 months; Starter is monthly only, and Enterprise is quoted above 5,000 conversations.

Prices from Gorgias's pricing page and its plan comparison table, checked 22 October 2026, in US dollars before sales tax.

Gorgias says its helpdesk is "never priced per agent": Starter stops at 3 users and every plan above it includes 500. There is no free plan; the 7-day trial includes all features and asks for no payment details, and state sales tax is added where the law requires it.

The Gorgias pricing page has switches for annual billing and for adding AI Agent. With both on, the cards read Basic $77, Pro $471 and Advanced $1,227 a month, so a Basic price of $77 includes AI Agent and $60 does not.

What counts as a ticket in Gorgias?

A Gorgias ticket counts toward your plan when at least one message in it is sent from your helpdesk, by a person, a Rule or AI Agent, and it counts once however many messages follow. A billable ticket is, in the pricing page's words, "a conversation started on any Gorgias channel that includes a message from a human agent, a Rule or AI Agent."

Messages nobody answers cost nothing, and so do tags, assignments and internal notes. Gorgias's billing article, How you're billed for using Gorgias, adds the edge cases: a customer who writes back after 10 quiet days on email, or 3 on chat, SMS and social, starts a new ticket, while a reply typed straight into Facebook or Instagram instead of the Gorgias ticket is not billed.

Voice and SMS run on separate meters, so Gorgias's own example of an email reply followed by a call and a closing text counts as 1 helpdesk ticket, 1 Voice ticket and 1 SMS ticket.

How much does Gorgias AI Agent cost per resolution?

Gorgias AI Agent costs $1.00 per automated interaction on monthly billing and $0.90 on annual billing, as of October 2026, sold as a bundle on each plan, and each interaction past the bundle costs $1.50.

An automated interaction is Gorgias's billing unit for AI: "a customer request that gets fully resolved without agent involvement, by using AI Agent or another automation feature like Flows or Order Management." It counts "if the customer does not require the involvement of a human agent within 72 hours"; if a person replies within that window, the conversation is billed as a ticket only. Other vendors draw the line elsewhere; our Fin pricing explainer covers Intercom's rule.

PlanAI interactions in the bundleBundle, monthly billingBundle, annual billingPlan plus AI Agent, monthlyPlan plus AI Agent, annual

Basic30$30$27$90$77
Pro190$190$171$550$471
Advanced530$530$477$1,430$1,227

Bundles and prices from Gorgias's pricing page, checked 22 October 2026. Interactions past the bundle cost $1.50 each.

The $1.50 rate sits in the pricing page's machine-readable product data, not on the plan cards. The comparison table lists $0.85 an interaction on Advanced, while the Advanced card's annual price works out at $0.90. And Gorgias's AI Agent pricing explainer, updated in May 2026, says plans include "90 to 2,500+ automated interactions per month" and quotes overage of $1.00 to $2.00 on Support-only monthly plans, so get your allowance and rate in writing.

The bundle can grow: the billing article says to use Manage on the Billing & usage page to "increase your usage limit", so a store expecting 750 AI resolutions should buy close to 750.

Two plan gates matter. On Starter, AI Agent cannot take Actions such as cancelling an order and has no brand voice or guardrails. And AI Agent and Order Management need a Shopify store, per Gorgias's compatibility table; Flows also run on BigCommerce and Magento, and WooCommerce and PrestaShop stores get none of the three.

Gorgias's AI Agent page claims 60% of tickets auto-resolved and shows 48% to 53% of conversations automated across five store categories. Those are vendor figures without a published method, so the worked months below test 30% and 50%.

What happened to Gorgias Automate?

Gorgias Automate was the name of Gorgias's Automation Add-on from November 2023, covering Flows, Order Management and Quick Responses. A March 2025 update turned the Automate tab into an AI Agent tab, and the compatibility article says Flows and Order Management are now "available with an active AI Agent subscription." Automate pricing today is AI Agent pricing: each request they resolve alone is an automated interaction.

What is the Gorgias double meter?

The Gorgias double meter is the rule, on current pricing, that a conversation AI Agent resolves without a person is billed twice: once as a helpdesk ticket and once as an automated interaction.

The double meter is our name for it, not Gorgias's, but the rule is Gorgias's own: "An automation fee and a ticket fee may apply to the same ticket only when the ticket is entirely resolved by AI Agent, without human intervention." The billing article lists three outcomes:

  1. AI Agent replies and resolves the ticket without handing over: ticket fee plus automation fee.
  2. AI Agent replies, then hands over to a person: ticket fee only.
  3. A Flow, Order Management or an article recommendation resolves the request: automation fee only.
Close-up of an instrument dial with two scales, white f-numbers on a black ring and red time values on a silver ring
One dial, two scales: a conversation AI Agent resolves on its own is read on Gorgias's ticket scale and its automation scale at the same time.

Counted on both meters, one AI-resolved conversation costs $1.00 plus a ticket on monthly billing: $1.18 to $1.20 at the plan's average ticket price of $0.18 to $0.20, $1.36 to $1.40 past the ticket allowance, and $1.86 to $1.90 past the AI bundle too. On annual billing the floor is about $1.05. Automation never shrinks the ticket line; each answer AI Agent automates is one ticket plus a fee. Our guide to what an AI support chatbot costs compares this model with per-seat and flat pricing.

Legacy pricing is the exception: accounts created before 28 May 2025 that have not both subscribed to AI Agent and upgraded to Shopping Assistant skills count each ticket "toward your usage for helpdesk tickets or automated interactions, but not both." Gorgias's legacy pricing article says accepting the Shopping Assistant upgrade moves you to the current model. If opening AI Agent, then Shopping Assistant, prompts you to upgrade, you are still on legacy pricing.

What does Gorgias cost at 300, 1,500 and 5,000 tickets a month?

At list prices on monthly billing, Gorgias costs about $150 to $270 a month at 300 tickets, $810 to $1,390 at 1,500 and $2,400 to $4,385 at 5,000, with 30% to 50% of tickets resolved by AI Agent. The assumptions:

  • Tickets are billable tickets, including the AI-resolved ones.
  • Automation is 30% or 50% of tickets resolved by AI Agent with no person within 72 hours.
  • Plan: the cheapest that covers the tickets. Basic at 300 (Starter would be $10 + 250 × $0.40 = $110), Pro at 1,500 (Basic would be $60 + 1,200 × $0.40 = $540), Advanced at 5,000.
  • AI fee: the low end raises the allowance to fit at $1.00 an interaction; the high end keeps the plan's bundle and pays $1.50 for the rest.
  • Left out: sales tax, Voice, SMS, Convert, discounts and resolutions by Flows or Order Management.

Last verified 22 October 2026 against Gorgias's pricing page, monthly billing. Estimates from list prices, not quotes.

The AI line is the bigger line in every month, even at 30%: $90 against $60 at 300 tickets and $450 against $360 at 1,500. At 50% it is 68% to 74% of the low-end total.

Better automation raises the bill. At 1,500 tickets, going from 30% to 50% leaves the $360 helpdesk line unchanged and adds $300 to $450 to the AI line, because the resolved conversations were tickets all along. The 50% month works out at $0.74 to $0.93 per ticket.

Sizing the allowance matters more than the plan. At 5,000 tickets and 50%, a fitted allowance saves $985 a month against the bundle plus overage, more than the $900 Advanced plan itself.

On annual billing, the 1,500-ticket month at 50% is $300 + 750 × $0.90 = $975 with a fitted allowance, or $300 + $171 + 560 × $1.50 = $1,311 with the default bundle.

What do Gorgias add-ons cost: Voice, SMS, Convert and seats?

Gorgias sells three add-ons beside the helpdesk and AI Agent, as of October 2026: Voice and SMS, each priced on a volume tier that the pricing page does not list, and Convert, priced at $0.50 to $0.60 per click.

Voice and SMS are billed per Voice ticket and per SMS ticket, counted apart from the helpdesk allowance; for Voice, Gorgias's Voice article says you pick a tier with a minimum number of tickets and an overage rate. The pricing page says only that the price "scales with your call and text volume" and lists both from Basic up, though the Voice article says every helpdesk plan can add Voice; ask for a quote.

Convert is Gorgias's onsite campaign product, billed by clicks, with at most 3 counted per browser session. Its pricing article lists six plans, from $30 a month for 50 clicks to $2,000 for 4,000, and auto-upgrade to the next plan is on by default, so switch it off if you want a fixed budget.

Seats are not sold separately: Starter includes 3 and every other plan 500, so a fourth teammate means moving to Basic. Enterprise adds SAML single sign-on, a custom DPA or MSA and a faster API at a quoted price.

Is Gorgias worth it for a small Shopify store?

Gorgias is worth its price for a small Shopify store when two or more people answer email, chat, social and SMS in one inbox and want AI Agent to change orders, not only describe them. From Basic, its Actions cancel eligible orders, swap items, update addresses, start returns with prepaid labels, apply discounts, pause subscriptions and issue full or partial refunds, from a library of more than 130 actions. Every plan has one inbox for email, chat, social and the help center, with Voice and SMS on top from Basic. And 500 seats from Basic mean seasonal staff cost nothing extra. Our Shopify chatbot comparison sets it beside seven other options.

The case is weaker for a one-person store with 300 tickets a month, which pays $150 to $270 on monthly billing with AI Agent, and for WooCommerce or PrestaShop stores, which cannot use AI Agent, Flows or Order Management at all. Starter's 50 tickets also run out fast: the 51st costs $0.40, and above 175 tickets a month Basic is cheaper.

Gorgias prices tickets, not people: from Basic up, 500 seats are included, so a growing team adds no seat cost to the bill.

How can you lower your Gorgias bill?

You can lower a Gorgias bill in six ways, as of October 2026: choose plans by their crossover points, size the AI allowance, pay annually, route order tracking to Flows, price upgrades first and answer questions before they become tickets.

  1. Pick the plan at the crossover. Between 175 and 1,050 tickets a month, Basic plus overage costs less than Pro on monthly billing.
  2. Size the AI allowance before a peak. Inside the allowance an interaction costs $1.00 and past it $1.50, so raise the limit before November. Gorgias's legacy pricing article describes allotments "per month (or per year, for annual plans)"; ask whether yours pool yearly, which would absorb a Black Friday spike.
  3. Pay annually if volume is steady. That takes about 17% off the plans and 10% off each AI interaction, for 12 months paid upfront.
  4. Let Flows and Order Management take order tracking. What they resolve costs the automation fee only; AI Agent's resolutions cost a ticket too.
  5. Price the Shopping Assistant upgrade before accepting it, since it moves a legacy account onto the double meter.
  6. Answer before a ticket exists. A question your FAQ page, your order status page or an AI agent outside Gorgias answers never reaches the helpdesk, so it costs neither fee.

What does an AI agent in front of Gorgias do to both meters?

An AI agent in front of Gorgias answers website questions before they reach the helpdesk, so the conversations it handles cost no Gorgias ticket and no automation fee, and Gorgias meters only what arrives by email, social, SMS and phone.

An AI support agent is software that answers customers from your own content and hands over to a person when it cannot help. PepoChat, our product, is one, and it is not a helpdesk: it answers on your website only, with no email, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram or phone channel, and no Gorgias integration. That leaves two honest setups.

In front of Gorgias. PepoChat replaces the Gorgias chat widget and Gorgias keeps every other channel. Take the 1,500-ticket store at 50% automation, $1,110 with a fitted allowance, and assume 600 of its tickets start in website chat. Without them Gorgias counts 900 tickets, which fit Basic at $60 + 600 × $0.40 = $300, plus 450 AI interactions at $1.00 if AI Agent still resolves half: $750. PepoChat bills AI replies, not resolutions; at an assumed two replies per conversation, 600 conversations are about 1,200 replies, inside Starter's 2,000 for $49 with 3 members. The total is about $799 instead of $1,110.

In exchange, website hand-offs land in PepoChat's team inbox, not in Gorgias, so someone watches two inboxes, and Basic lacks Pro's revenue attribution. PepoChat's Shopify action reports an order's payment and fulfilment status by order number, for orders from the last 60 days, where Gorgias's Actions can cancel, edit or refund.

Instead of Gorgias, for a one-person store. If you answer everything yourself and most questions start on the website, PepoChat plus your mailbox can stand in for a helpdesk. With Team availability set to "No one answers live chat, we follow up by email", the agent never promises a person; when it cannot help, it asks once for an email address, and you get an email with the last three messages and, once the visitor leaves an address, a Reply by email button. Replies typed in PepoChat's team inbox are not emailed to the visitor, so answer from that email. At two replies per conversation, the 300-ticket store needs about 600 replies a month: Starter at $49, against $150 to $270 on Gorgias.

Every feature except new-lead emails is on the free plan, with 200 AI replies a month; paid plans bill extra replies at $10 per 1,000 with no self-serve spending cap. The pricing page has the full table, and since PepoChat publishes no resolution statistics, judge it on your own traffic.

What counts as a ticket in Gorgias?
A Gorgias ticket is billable when at least one message in it is sent from your helpdesk by a person, a Rule or AI Agent, and it counts once however long the thread runs. How much is Gorgias AI Agent per resolution?
As of October 2026, Gorgias AI Agent costs $1.00 per automated interaction on monthly billing and $0.90 on annual billing, sold in bundles of 30 on Starter and Basic, 190 on Pro and 530 on Advanced. Interactions past the bundle cost $1.50 each. On current pricing, each conversation AI Agent resolves without a person also counts as a helpdesk ticket.
Does Gorgias have a free plan?
No. As of October 2026 Gorgias has no free plan; it offers a 7-day trial with all features and no payment details required. After the trial the cheapest plan is Starter at $10 a month for 50 tickets and 3 seats, billed monthly only and without AI Actions or brand voice. Adding the AI Agent bundle makes Starter $40 a month.
Is Gorgias worth it for a small Shopify store?
