Short answer

As of October 2026, Tidio bills three meters. Billable conversations, the chats a person answers, set the plan: Free includes 50 a month, Starter costs $29 for 100 and Growth $59 to $349 for 250 to 2,000. Lyro AI conversations are a separate quota, $39 for 50 up to $700 for 1,000, and Flows visitors are the third. Removing the badge adds $20 a month on Growth. A 500-chat month with Lyro resolving 300 costs $269 to $409.

Tidio's pricing page looks simple until you try to put a number in a budget. It opens on annual billing, so the first prices you see are not what a month-to-month account pays. The AI agent is metered apart from the plan, and the tiers have been renamed often enough that pages about Tidio pricing still quote plans that no longer exist.

This guide is for store owners, WordPress freelancers and small support teams who run Tidio or are pricing it against another tool. It covers each meter, every plan and Lyro step, the badge fee, what happens at a limit, three worked months with the arithmetic shown and the plan history, then where a flat-plan AI support agent costs less.

Tidio's prices and definitions were read on tidio.com and in Tidio's help center on 22 October 2026, and the history comes from Wayback Machine snapshots of the pricing page opened the same day. PepoChat is our product; its pricing below was checked in its code and documentation on 22 October 2026.

How does Tidio pricing work?

Tidio pricing works as three meters added together: billable conversations answered by your team, Lyro AI conversations answered by Tidio's AI agent, and website visitors reached by Flows automations, each bought in fixed monthly steps.

The billable conversation meter sets the plan. Free, Starter and Growth differ mainly in how many conversations a person on your team can answer each month, plus features such as analytics, macros and Shopify actions. Lyro and Flows are add-ons with their own steps, and the FAQ on Tidio's pricing page says each can be bought on any plan, Free included.

A Lyro conversation is Tidio's billing unit for its AI agent: a customer conversation in which Lyro replies at least once. Flows are Tidio's rule-based automations, such as greetings, data collection and quote requests, metered by the unique visitors who receive at least one automated message in a month; after 100 free visitors, the steps run from $29 a month for 2,000 visitors to $299 for 100,000. Removing Tidio's logo from the widget is a fourth, smaller line.

Two details trip up most estimates. The pricing page opens with the annual toggle on, labelled two months free, so its first prices are ten months' cost spread over twelve: Starter's $24.17 is $29 on monthly billing, and Lyro's $32.50 is $39. And the steps stop at 2,000 billable conversations, 1,000 Lyro conversations and 100,000 Flows visitors; beyond those, the calculator sends you to sales for Plus or Premium. Paid features can be tried for seven days without a card.

How much does each Tidio plan cost in 2026?

Tidio's plans cost $0 for Free, $29 a month for Starter and $59 to $349 a month for Growth on monthly billing in October 2026, while Plus starts at $300 a month plus usage and Premium is priced by Tidio's sales team.

Prices from Tidio's pricing page, checked 22 October 2026, in US dollars before tax. Annual billing charges ten months for twelve.

Growth is sold in seven steps: 250 billable conversations for $59, 400 for $89, 600 for $129, 800 for $159, 1,000 for $179, 1,500 for $249 and 2,000 for $349 a month. On top of Starter it adds advanced analytics, permissions, automatic chat assignment, macros and native Shopify actions, which let agents check order history, cancel orders and send product recommendations from the chat window.

The Plus card lists the $300 base, separate usage for AI and human conversations at lower rates than self-serve, departments, several projects, custom branding, the OpenAPI, a dedicated success manager and a custom number of seats with no per-seat charge. Premium adds a guaranteed 50% Lyro resolution rate, pay-per-resolution billing from 3,000 Lyro conversations a month, SSO and a mobile SDK, all on a quote.

Every plan, Free included, brings Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and email into the same inbox, and the self-serve plans allow up to 10 agents each.

What is a billable conversation in Tidio?

A billable conversation in Tidio is a live chat, ticket, email or social media thread that includes a reply from a person on your team; replies from Lyro or Flows and messages nobody answers do not count toward the monthly limit.

Tidio's pricing FAQ counts a thread once it "includes a message from a human agent", however many messages follow. A visitor message you never answer, such as spam, is not billed, while a conversation your team starts proactively is. Tickets from a connected mailbox and threads from Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp count the same way as website chats.

Tidio's help article on the monthly conversations limit describes the timing differently: it counts a conversation as handled when an agent closes it with the Solve button. Both mean one count per thread your team answers. The same article says the Lyro, Flows and email campaign quotas are tracked separately, so AI replies never use up the human allowance.

The limit is a hard stop. According to that article, a project that reaches its monthly billable conversations can no longer see the details of new messages or reply to them until it upgrades or the quota resets, with a warning banner from 80%. On Free that is 50 answered conversations a month across every channel. Starter's 100 is the only step between Free and Growth, so a team answering 120 chats a month pays $59, not $29.

How much does Lyro AI cost per conversation?

Lyro AI costs $39 a month for 50 conversations and $0.70 a conversation from the 200 step up to $700 for 1,000, on monthly billing in October 2026; annual billing brings the rate down to about $0.58.

Lyro steps from Tidio's pricing calculator, checked 22 October 2026. Per-conversation figures are rounded to the cent.

Tidio counts a Lyro conversation when Lyro first replies in a new conversation on any connected channel, and later replies in the same thread are free. Its help article on the Lyro AI agent limit adds three rules that move the count. A thread closes after 15 minutes of inactivity, so a visitor who writes again later opens a new counted conversation. A conversation Lyro passes to a person immediately, a human handoff with no answer from Lyro, costs nothing. On email tickets, Lyro replies only to the first message.

The pricing FAQ says a customer who leaves and returns later is still one conversation, which conflicts with the 15-minute rule, so budget for the stricter help-center rule until Tidio reconciles the two. Paid steps reset monthly from the purchase date. The 50 free conversations every account receives never reset: once they are used, Lyro stops answering until you buy a step.

Two other numbers circulate. Tidio's AI agent page advertises $0.50 a conversation, but its FAQ attaches that starting rate to Lyro Connect, which places Lyro inside Zendesk, Salesforce or another help desk and is sold only with Plus and Premium; no self-serve step goes below $0.58. The same page says customers average a 75% resolution rate with Lyro. That is Tidio's own figure, and outside Premium every Lyro conversation is billed whether or not it was resolved. Our comparison of Lyro, Fin and Zendesk's AI agents sets those billing rules side by side.

Does Tidio charge overage when you hit a limit?

Tidio charges no per-conversation overage on Free, Starter, Growth or the Lyro and Flows add-ons; on monthly plans it moves you up one step when you use 95% of a quota, and otherwise the quota stops until it resets or you upgrade.

Tidio's automatic upgrades article describes the sequence: an email and an in-app alert at 80% of a quota, then an upgrade to the next step at 95%, for example from 250 to 400 billable conversations. The setting is on by default for new projects, covers the billable, Lyro and Flows quotas, and can be switched off in the subscription settings. Free accounts, annual subscriptions and Plus plans are never upgraded automatically.

The automatic upgrade is Tidio's nearest thing to overage, and it moves in large jumps. On Growth, passing 95% of the 250 step lifts the plan from $59 to $89, $30 more for up to 150 extra conversations. On Lyro, passing 95% of the 300 step moves you from $210 to $350, and the 500 step moves to $525. Switch the setting off and you get the hard stop described above on the human side. Tidio's articles do not say what a paid Lyro quota does at 100%, while the free quota simply stops Lyro.

How much does it cost to remove Tidio branding?

Removing Tidio's branding costs $20 a month on monthly billing, or $16.67 a month billed annually, as an add-on that only Growth accounts can buy; Plus and Premium include it, and Free and Starter cannot remove the logo.

The add-on removes Tidio's logo from the chat widget. Uploading your own logo and other custom branding is a separate Plus feature, according to Tidio's help article on widget customization. The cheapest badge-free Tidio widget is therefore Growth plus the add-on: $59 + $20 = $79 a month, or $65.83 a month billed annually, before any Lyro step. The price has not changed in three years; an October 2023 snapshot of the pricing page lists the same $20 add-on.

PepoChat charges for this too, at a different point. The "Powered by PepoChat" line appears on its Free and Starter plans and is removed only on Growth, at $149 a month or $1,490 a year, with no cheaper add-on. If a clean widget is the only reason to pay, Tidio's $79 route costs less. PepoChat's Growth price also includes 10,000 AI replies and 10 members, so the better deal depends on what else you need. Our free AI chatbot comparison lists what each free plan charges to remove its badge.

What does Tidio cost at 100, 500 and 2,000 conversations a month?

On October 2026 list prices with monthly billing, Tidio costs $75 a month at 100 conversations, $269 to $409 at 500, and a custom Plus quote at 2,000, assuming Lyro resolves 60% of conversations and a person answers the rest.

The months below use four assumptions:

  1. Lyro is on for every conversation and resolves 60% alone; a person replies to the other 40%, which makes them billable conversations.
  2. The Lyro count is a range. The low end assumes Lyro hands that 40% to a person at once, which Tidio does not bill; the high end assumes Lyro answers first in every conversation, so the handed-over ones count on both meters.
  3. Each visitor writes once, so the 15-minute thread rule adds nothing; returning visitors would raise the Lyro count.
  4. No Flows beyond the 100 free visitors, the badge stays on, and automatic upgrades are off.

Prices from Tidio's pricing page, checked 22 October 2026, before tax and the $20 badge add-on.

At 100 conversations, the 40 answered chats fit inside Free's 50, and 60 to 100 Lyro conversations both land on the 100 step: $0 + $75 = $75 a month, or $75 × 10 ÷ 12 = $62.50 a month billed annually. A badge-free widget would need Growth: $59 + $20 + $75 = $154.

At 500 conversations, 200 answered chats outgrow Starter's 100, so the plan is Growth at the 250 step, $59. Lyro needs the 300 step at the low end and the 500 step at the high end: $59 + $210 = $269, and $59 + $350 = $409. The $140 between them is the double meter: each conversation Lyro tries before a handoff is paid for twice, once as a Lyro conversation and once as a billable conversation. Removing the badge brings the range to $289 to $429.

At 2,000 conversations, 800 answered chats fit Growth's 800 step at $159, but 1,200 to 2,000 Lyro conversations pass the 1,000 self-serve ceiling, so the AI side needs a Plus quote. The most you can buy without a sales call is 2,000 billable and 1,000 Lyro conversations: $349 + $700 = $1,049 a month. Plus starts at $300 plus usage, at rates Tidio describes as lower than self-serve but does not publish.

With automatic upgrades on, leave headroom. A step filled exactly gets upgraded at 95%, so 100 Lyro conversations end on the 150 step at $110, 300 on the 500 step at $350, and 500 on the 750 step at $525.

A Tidio bill is the plan step plus the Lyro step plus any Flows step, so the sum changes whenever the human or AI share of conversations moves.

How have Tidio's plans and prices changed since 2023?

Tidio has changed its plan names, prices or meters at least eight times since January 2023: per-operator Communicator gave way to conversation-based plans, Tidio+ and Enterprise became Plus and Premium, and Plus fell from $749 to $300 plus usage in July 2026.

The renames explain most of the conflicting figures online. A page written in mid-2024 quotes Tidio+ at $499 or $749, one from 2025 quotes Plus at $749 and Premium at $2,999, and anything current should say Plus from $300 plus usage. The October 2024 snapshot shows the first Plus and Premium line-up, and the 17 July 2026 snapshot the first $300 Plus.

Is Tidio worth it, and when is a flat-plan AI agent cheaper?

Tidio is worth its price when your team answers a real share of conversations on Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and email, since ten seats and those channels come with every self-serve plan; a flat-plan AI agent usually costs less for website-first support.

Tidio's strengths are real. Ten seats on Free, Starter and Growth let a team of six share one inbox on Growth for $59 a month. Flows adds proactive, rule-based messages such as quote requests and follow-ups on missed chats. Growth's Shopify actions put order history, cancellations and product cards in front of your agents, Lyro can recommend products once you buy a Lyro step, and on Plus, Lyro Connect lets Tidio's AI answer inside a help desk you already run. If your customers write on Instagram and WhatsApp, those channels alone may decide it; our tawk.to vs Tidio comparison weighs them against free live chat.

The bill climbs with AI volume: at least $0.58 a Lyro conversation, resolved or not, and a sales call above 1,000 a month.

PepoChat, our product, prices the AI the other way round. It meters one thing, AI replies, and replies your team types in the team inbox, the shared view where people take over from the AI, are free. PepoChat puts every feature on the free plan, which includes 200 AI replies a month; Starter is $49 for 2,000 replies and Growth $149 for 10,000, and paid plans bill replies past the allowance at $10 per 1,000. At three AI replies per conversation, the 100-conversation month needs 300 replies, so Starter at $49, because Free's 200 would cover about two thirds of the month before new conversations go to the inbox. The 500-conversation month needs 1,500 replies, still $49, and the 2,000-conversation month needs 6,000: $49 + 4,000 × $0.01 = $89 on Starter, or $149 on Growth with 10 members and no badge.

The trade-offs are just as real. PepoChat's widget is web only, with no Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp or email channels, and it is an AI support agent with a team inbox, not a ticketing help desk. Members are 1 on Free, 3 on Starter and 10 on Growth, with extra seats at $15 a month, against Tidio's 10 on every self-serve plan. Paid overage has no self-serve spend cap, and because PepoChat counts replies, a long back-and-forth costs more replies where Tidio counts one conversation. For store lookups, PepoChat checks Shopify orders by order number and WooCommerce orders by number or full email address on every plan; the WooCommerce chatbot comparison shows how other tools handle the same job.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Tidio cost per month?
On monthly billing in October 2026, Tidio costs $0 on Free, $29 on Starter and $59 to $349 on Growth, depending on how many conversations your team answers. Lyro AI is extra, from $39 for 50 conversations to $700 for 1,000. Plus starts at $300 a month plus usage, Premium is quoted, and annual billing charges ten months for twelve.
What is a billable conversation in Tidio?
A billable conversation is a chat, ticket, email or social media thread in which someone on your team replies, counted once however many messages follow. Messages you never answer, Lyro's replies and Flows messages do not count. Free includes 50 a month, Starter 100 and Growth 250 to 2,000, and at the limit your team cannot reply until you upgrade or the quota resets.
How much does Lyro AI cost?
As of October 2026, Lyro costs $39 a month for 50 conversations, $75 for 100, $140 for 200 and $700 for 1,000 on monthly billing, or $0.70 to $0.78 each. Annual billing lowers that to about $0.58 to $0.65. Every account gets 50 free Lyro conversations once, and more than 1,000 a month needs a Plus or Premium quote.
Is Tidio's free plan enough for a small store?
Only for a very small one. Tidio Free includes 10 seats and 50 conversations a month that a person answers, across chat, email and social channels, but its 50 Lyro AI conversations come once per account and never renew. When the 50 human conversations run out, your team cannot reply until the quota resets or you upgrade, and the Tidio logo stays on the widget.
How do I remove Tidio branding and what does it cost?
Buy the No Tidio branding add-on, which costs $20 a month on monthly billing or $16.67 a month billed annually, as of October 2026. Only the Growth plan, from $59 a month, can add it, so the cheapest badge-free Tidio widget costs $79 a month. Plus and Premium include branding removal, and Free and Starter accounts cannot remove the logo.
Is Tidio cheaper than Intercom?
For the AI, it depends on your resolution rate. Lyro costs $0.70 to $0.78 per conversation on monthly billing, resolved or not, while Intercom's pricing page lists Fin from $0.99 per outcome, so Fin is cheaper when under about 71% to 79% of conversations end in an outcome. Lyro runs on Tidio's free plan; Fin needs an Intercom plan or a minimum commitment on another help desk.
