Slack
Post an alert to a channel when a customer reports something urgent.
With Slack connected the agent posts an alert to a channel when a visitor reports something urgent: an outage, a payment failure, a request from a key customer. The agent keeps the conversation calm while your team is paged.
What the agent can do
| Action | What it does | Inputs collected |
|---|---|---|
| Notify the team on Slack | Posts "Support alert from <name>: <summary>" to the channel, after the agent has escalated or resolved what it can. | Visitor's name, a one-or-two-sentence summary |
Connect in one click
If Connect Slack is shown under App Integrations → Slack, click it, pick the channel on Slack's screen, and the action is created and enabled with "Posts to #channel" in its description.
Connect with a webhook
Create an incoming webhook
In your Slack app settings enable Incoming Webhooks and add one for the channel that should receive alerts. Copy the URL that starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/.Paste it into PepoChat
Open App Integrations → Slack, paste the URL, tick the action and click Add actions.
Test, then enable
Test posts a real message to the channel. Enable the action when it arrives.
Good to know
- The webhook URL is the credential. It is stored as the action's URL and visible to workspace members, so rotate it in Slack if it leaks.
- Slack has no mention suppression: text a visitor types can reach the channel, including
@channel. If that is a concern, use Discord, where alerts never ping, or edit the action's "when to use" text to keep alerts to summaries the agent writes.
